Back to Buroo

A place for everything worth keeping.

From your first document to a shared household archive. Learn how to use Buroo on your iPhone.

For iPhone

1. Open your archive

Open Buroo on your iPhone and use the sign-in method associated with your account. Always use the same Apple or Google account.

New to Buroo? Start with a free personal archive. No credit card is required.

2. Keep the original

Scan a document, select photos, import a PDF or share from another app to Buroo. Put the pages in the right order and save them together as one document.

Check the title, type, sender, date and amount before saving. Then check that you can open the document and all original files.

3. Find what you need

Search by title, sender, product name, reference, amount, date or stored document text. Multiple search words are combined. Filter by type to narrow the results to receipts or contracts, for example.

Open a document to see its details and originals. You can download the original files. Attachments stay together in their saved order.

4. Check and complete the details

Open a document and choose Edit to check and complete its details. The original remains the source of truth; always verify suggestions yourself.

5. Keep track of important dates

Add a reminder with a title and date you have checked. Check your iPhone settings to allow Buroo notifications. Reminders are an aid; the original document remains the source of truth.

6. Share an archive with your household

With Family, the owner can share one household archive with up to five members, including themselves. The owner manages the subscription through Apple. Members can have view or edit access.

Manage your household and invitations in the iPhone app. Only grant access to the intended person. View access allows reading and downloading; edit access also allows adding, changing and deleting documents.

Manage ownership transfers and account deletion in the iPhone app. An Apple subscription is not automatically transferred or cancelled.

7. You decide whether AI helps

The iPhone app recognises text on your device. Only with separate explicit consent does Buroo send recognised text and optionally the title to Google Gemini for additional field suggestions. The original photo or PDF is not sent for this analysis.

Withdraw consent in Settings > AI and data sharing in the iPhone app. New AI transfers then stop. Saving, manual entry and search work without AI.

8. Export and delete

Use the export feature in Buroo settings to keep your documents and original files. Check the export before deleting anything.

Deletion requires confirmation. Deleting from a shared archive removes the document for all members. Keep a copy first if you need the original.

Delete your account in the iPhone app, or send a privacy request to info@braightminds.nl. Export and deletion do not require a paid subscription.

9. When something goes wrong

If synchronisation fails, check your internet connection. Wait for save confirmation and check the archive before adding the same document again.

Use the same sign-in method when signing in again. Recover your Apple or Google account with that provider. Contact support if you are unsure.
